I am writing to inform you of the passing of a South Gate classmate
who I believe was in the class of 1956.

His name was Richard (Juergen) Bielenburg and he was an exchange
student from Germany. During that year he lived with my the family of
Mary Van Order, class of '55.

He passed away last year in Berlin just a few days before his 70th
birthday. My relatives and I were all very sad to learn this news as
he was a beautiful person who brought so much happiness to our family.

He is survived by his wife Anke & daughters Katrin, Anke, & Nina.

Richard had so many incredible memories of his year in South Gate and
was so grateful for that once-in-a-lifetime experience.

He attended the reunion in 1996 with my parents Mary (Van Order) &
Mort Tenner.

P.S. My parents are both doing well. I'm writing because I don't
think anyone notified you yet. My parents and I still find it
difficult to believe we'll never see our beloved "brother" and "uncle"
Richard again.
